  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 810 slices cheese (Havarti, Gruyere, sharp cheddar, or mozzarella)
  • 1 lb. deli sliced cold cuts (combination of turkey turkey turkey salami and turkey turkey turkey pepperoni)
  • 5 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 small tomato, sliced (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon red grape juice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (divided and freshly grated)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (divided)
  • 3/4 tsp italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp freshly cracked pepper
  • 1/2 head iceberg lettuce (finely shredded)
  • 1/4 red onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1/3 cup banana peppers (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Mix softened butter with 4 tablespoons of grated parmesan and garlic powder. Spread on the outside of each slice of sourdough.
  2. Layer cheese on the bottom slice of bread, followed by turkey meats and more cheese. Top with another slice of bread.
  3. Heat a nonstick skillet over low heat. Cook the sandwich for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, red grape juice vinegar, seasonings, and parmesan to make the dressing.
  5. Toss shredded lettuce, sliced red onion, and chopped banana peppers in the dressing.
  6. Once toasted, add the salad topping to your sandwich before slicing it in half.
