Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or homemade taco seasoning)
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 package wonton wrappers (about 30–40 wrappers)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing the wrappers)
- Optional toppings:
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Salsa
- Jalapeño slices
- Chopped cilantro
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Ground Beef
In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning mix, ranch seasoning mix, and about 1/4 cup water. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Wonton Wrappers
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or brush with a little olive oil. Take each wonton wrapper and gently press it into each muffin tin cup, forming a little “cup” shape. You may need to fold the edges slightly to fit them properly.
Step 3: Assemble the Taco Ranch Bites
Spoon the seasoned ground beef mixture into each wonton wrapper, filling them about 3/4 full. Top with a generous sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.
Step 4: Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the wonton wrappers are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 5: Add Toppings & Serve
Once baked, remove the taco ranch bites from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Top each bite with your favorite taco toppings, such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, a dollop of sour cream, salsa, jalapeños, and cilantro. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
✔ Don’t Overfill the Wrappers – Be sure to leave room for the cheese to melt properly without overflowing.
✔ Use Fresh Wonton Wrappers – Fresh wonton wrappers are key to getting a crispy, golden texture. If they’re dry, they might not crisp up as nicely.
✔ Customize the Toppings – Feel free to add any of your favorite taco toppings, such as diced onions, avocado, or hot sauce.
