Ingredients
For the Brussels Sprouts:
-
1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
½ tsp garlic powder
For the Sweet Chili Glaze:
-
¼ cup sweet chili sauce
-
1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
-
1 tsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
-
1 tsp sesame oil
-
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for more heat)
For Garnish (Optional):
-
Toasted sesame seeds
-
Sliced green onions
-
Lime wedges
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Brussels Sprouts
Trim the ends and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves.
Cut each sprout in half for even cooking.
Place them in a bowl and toss with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Step 2: Air Fry to Crispy Perfection
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) if needed.
Arrange the Brussels sprouts in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Cook for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until browned and crispy.
Step 3: Make the Sweet Chili Glaze
While the sprouts are cooking, whisk together sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
Optional: Warm the sauce in a small saucepan for a stickier, thicker glaze.
Step 4: Toss & Coat
Once the Brussels sprouts are cooked, transfer them to a clean bowl.
Pour the glaze over and toss gently to coat every piece evenly.
Step 5: Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions if using.
Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for a fresh zing.
Notes
Don’t Overcrowd – Cook in batches if needed to avoid steaming.
Shake the Basket – This ensures even crisping on all sides.
Dry Before Tossing – Moisture can make them soggy, so pat sprouts dry before seasoning.
Use the Right Temperature – 375°F is ideal for a crispy outside without burning.
Sauce After Cooking – Adding sauce before can prevent proper crisping.
