1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for light crisp coating)
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
-
1 tbsp oil (olive, avocado, or vegetable)
For the Honey Sriracha Sauce:
-
3 tbsp honey
-
2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
-
1 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
-
1 tbsp lime juice
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional but recommended)
-
1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional for thickening)
For Garnish:
-
Chopped green onions
-
Sesame seeds
-
Lime wedges
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Shrimp
Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
Toss with salt, pepper, and cornstarch for a light crispy texture (optional).
Step 2: Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, sriracha, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, and ginger.
Set aside. If you prefer a thicker glaze, mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and keep it ready.
Step 3: Cook the Shrimp
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and lightly golden.
Remove from skillet and set aside.
Step 4: Make the Sauce
In the same skillet, pour in the honey sriracha sauce.
Simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly reduced.
Stir in the cornstarch slurry if using and cook until the sauce thickens, about 1 more minute.
Step 5: Combine and Finish
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
Cook for 1 more minute to heat through and glaze the shrimp.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Remove from heat and garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and lime wedges.
Serve immediately and enjoy the sweet-spicy magic!
Notes
- Don’t Overcook – Shrimp cook fast; remove them as soon as they turn pink.
- Pat Dry First – Helps with better browning and texture.
- Use Fresh or Frozen – Just be sure to fully thaw and dry frozen shrimp.
- Adjust Heat – Add more or less sriracha based on your spice tolerance.
- Extra Sauce? – Double the sauce for drizzling over rice or noodles.
