Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Bread Bowls:

  • 4 large crusty sandwich rolls or small round bread loaves

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tsp dried)

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese (optional)

For the Spaghetti Filling:

  • 8 oz spaghetti noodles

  • 2 cups marinara or meat sauce (homemade or store-bought)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Optional Toppings:

  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

  • Red pepper flakes

  • Extra cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Spaghetti
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente.
Drain and mix with your marinara or meat sauce. Set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Bread Bowls
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cut a hole in the top of each bread roll and scoop out the center to create a bowl, leaving about ½-inch thickness around the edges.
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and parmesan (if using).
Brush the inside and edges of each bread bowl with the garlic butter mixture.
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

Step 3: Fill the Bowls
Remove bowls from oven and fill each with a generous portion of spaghetti.
Top with shredded mozzarella and a sprinkle of parmesan.
Return to oven for another 5–7 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 4: Garnish & Serve
Garnish with fresh basil, parsley, or red pepper flakes if desired.
Serve hot with forks or eat right out of the bowl—bread and all!

Notes

Use Sturdy Bread – Choose rolls with a crusty exterior so they hold their shape.
Don’t Overfill – Keep sauce and cheese contained so it doesn’t overflow.
Customize Your Sauce – Add cooked sausage, mushrooms, or spinach to make it your own.
Bake Twice – First to crisp the bowl, second to melt the cheese.
Use Day-Old Bread – Slightly stale rolls work great and toast up better.
