Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 cup canned plain pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • coarse sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together one large egg and two teaspoons of water for the egg wash.
  3. In a large bowl, combine one cup of canned pumpkin, half a cup of granulated sugar, and one teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice; whisk until well mixed.
  4. Divide the pumpkin mixture evenly among the puff pastry sheets, spreading it into an even layer.
  5. Roll each pastry tightly from one end over the filling and twist it carefully while keeping the filling side facing up.
  6. Shape each twisted pastry into a circle by bringing the ends together and pressing firmly.
  7. Brush the pastries with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown; let cool for 10 minutes before drizzling with glaze made from mixing one cup powdered sugar, one tablespoon milk, and one teaspoon vanilla extract.
