  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ¼ cup Italian bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup minced yellow onion
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese (diced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, parmesan, onion, garlic, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper; mix until just combined.
  3. Shape about 1½ tablespoons of the mixture into a ball, place a piece of mozzarella in the center, and mold the meat around it to seal.
  4. Place meatballs on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. While baking, cook spaghetti noodles according to package directions.
  6. In a saucepan, heat baked meatballs with marinara sauce until warmed through.
  7. Serve meatballs over spaghetti or as an appetizer.
