Extra sliced green onions
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Noodles
-
Boil noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
-
Drain, rinse with cold water, and toss with a drizzle of oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Beef
-
Toss sliced beef with cornstarch in a bowl until coated evenly.
-
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Sear beef in batches (don’t overcrowd the pan) for 1–2 minutes per side until browned.
-
Transfer beef to a plate and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Sauce
-
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, hoisin, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
-
Pour the sauce into the same skillet and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
-
Let it bubble for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 4: Combine Everything
-
Return the seared beef to the skillet.
-
Add the cooked noodles and toss everything to coat evenly in the sauce.
-
Stir in carrots, peppers, and green onions if using.
-
Cook for another 2–3 minutes until heated through.
Step 5: Garnish & Serve
-
Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and more green onions.
-
Serve immediately while hot, with extra sauce on the side if desired.
Notes
Slice Beef Thinly – Cut against the grain for tenderness.
Don’t Overcook the Noodles – Keep them firm so they hold up in the sauce.
Balance the Sweetness – Adjust the brown sugar to your taste.
Use High Heat – Searing the beef quickly locks in flavor.
Add Veggies – Broccoli, snow peas, or baby spinach make great additions.
