Ingredients

Scale
  • 2832 ounces frozen French fries
  • 1 ½ teaspoons brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 4 tablespoons ranch dressing (plus more for dipping)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 2 cups medium cheddar cheese (freshly shredded)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven as per the fries package instructions. Line two baking sheets with foil and spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, mix all seasonings (except ranch). Spread frozen fries on both baking sheets and sprinkle with seasoning evenly.
  3. Toss fries gently to coat, then arrange in a single layer.
  4. Bake according to package directions, rotating pans halfway through if necessary.
  5. While fries bake, melt butter in a medium skillet over medium-low heat. Add flour and whisk for about 1-2 minutes until combined.
  6. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth; cook until slightly thickened.
  7. Slowly add cheese, stirring until melted and creamy. Keep warm on low heat.
  8. Once fries are done, layer them on a plate, drizzle with cheese sauce and ranch dressing, topping with reserved seasonings if desired.
  9. Serve immediately with extra dipping sauces.
