  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Stir in 1 cup of marinara sauce and let simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
  4. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Spread the ricotta mixture on the unbuttered side of one slice.
  5. Layer with ground beef mix and mozzarella cheese before topping with another slice of bread (butter side up).
  6. Grill sandwiches in a skillet on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve hot with remaining marinara sauce for dipping.
