-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
-
1 small onion, thinly sliced
-
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (sugar-free)
-
1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
For the Keto Dough:
-
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-
2 oz cream cheese
-
1 cup almond flour
-
1 egg
-
½ tsp baking powder
-
Pinch of salt
For Topping (Optional):
-
1 tbsp melted butter
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Filling
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add sliced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add sliced beef, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until beef is just browned, about 3-4 minutes.
Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Keto Dough
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
Add almond flour, egg, baking powder, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
Let cool for 1-2 minutes, then knead into a smooth ball.
Step 3: Roll Out the Dough
Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper.
Roll into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick.
Trim edges for a cleaner shape if needed.
Step 4: Fill and Roll
Spoon the cheesesteak filling down the center of the dough.
Top with shredded cheese.
Carefully roll the dough over the filling, tucking in the ends.
Place seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 5: Bake the Rolls
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and sesame seeds, if using.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
Slice into rounds and serve warm with a side salad, keto-friendly dip, or on their own!
Notes
-
Use Thin-Sliced Beef – It cooks quickly and gives you authentic texture.
-
Pre-Cook the Filling – This prevents the rolls from getting soggy.
-
Don’t Overfill – Too much filling can cause the dough to tear.
-
Chill the Dough Slightly – If sticky, refrigerate for 10 minutes before rolling.
-
Reheat Right – Use the oven or skillet to keep them crispy, not soggy.
