  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon – 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm water with yeast and sugar; let it foam for about 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine melted butter, salt, and half of the flour. Gradually add the remaining flour while mixing on low speed until incorporated. Knead until smooth and elastic (7-10 minutes).
  3. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled in size (1 to 1.5 hours).
  4. Punch down the dough, shape it into logs, and divide into even pieces (16-18). Roll each piece to form thin logs.
  5. Arrange on a greased baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let rise again for another hour.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), then bake for about 14-15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Combine melted butter with salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Brush over warm breadsticks before serving.
