Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 white onion (peeled & thinly sliced)
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 pkg medium egg noodles
  • 4 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Cook the medium egg noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large Dutch oven, heat canola oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, salt, pepper, and onion powder; cook until browned.
  3. Stir in sliced onions and cook until they soften.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together whole milk and chicken broth; set aside.
  5. Push the meat mixture to one side of the pot and add flour on the other side. Whisk together for about 30 seconds.
  6. Slowly pour in the milk mixture while whisking continuously until thickened; remove from heat.
  7. Return drained noodles to their pot and toss with butter until melted.
  8. Serve buttered noodles topped with generous portions of gravy.
