- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 white onion (peeled & thinly sliced)
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 1 tbsp flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 pkg medium egg noodles
- 4 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Cook the medium egg noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large Dutch oven, heat canola oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, salt, pepper, and onion powder; cook until browned.
- Stir in sliced onions and cook until they soften.
- In a bowl, whisk together whole milk and chicken broth; set aside.
- Push the meat mixture to one side of the pot and add flour on the other side. Whisk together for about 30 seconds.
- Slowly pour in the milk mixture while whisking continuously until thickened; remove from heat.
- Return drained noodles to their pot and toss with butter until melted.
- Serve buttered noodles topped with generous portions of gravy.
