Ingredients
For the Shrimp:

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tbsp olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

½ tsp smoked paprika

¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Juice of ½ lemon
For the Orzo:

1 cup dry orzo pasta

1 tbsp olive oil or butter

2 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth

Zest of 1 lemon

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Extra lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Shrimp

In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, garlic, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1.5–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp, toss to coat, then remove from skillet and set aside.
Step 2: Toast the Orzo
5. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add 1 tbsp olive oil or butter.
6. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
7. Stir in the orzo and toast for 2–3 minutes until lightly golden.
Step 3: Simmer the Orzo
8. Pour in broth and stir to combine.
9. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
10. Stir in lemon zest, Parmesan cheese (if using), and fresh parsley.
11. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4: Combine & Serve
12. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss gently with the orzo.
13. Heat through for 1–2 minutes.
14. Serve hot with extra parsley and lemon wedges on the side.
