Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Fried Ravioli:

    • 1 package (about 12 oz) frozen cheese ravioli – Fresh or frozen, any variety works.
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour – For dredging.
    • 2 large eggs – To dip the ravioli before breading.
    • 1 ½ cups seasoned breadcrumbs – For that perfect crunchy coating.
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder – Adds extra flavor to the coating.
    • ½ teaspoon onion powder – For a savory kick.
    • ½ teaspoon dried oregano – For an Italian touch.
    • Salt and pepper – To season.
    • ½ cup vegetable oil – For frying.
  • For the Marinara Dipping Sauce:

    • 1 jar (about 24 oz) marinara sauce – Use your favorite brand or homemade.
    • 1 teaspoon dried basil – Adds a fresh, herby flavor.
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder – To enhance the sauce’s flavor.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ravioli
If using frozen ravioli, follow the package instructions to cook them just until al dente (they don’t need to be fully cooked as they’ll cook more while frying). Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 2: Set Up the Breading Station
In one shallow bowl, place the flour.
In another shallow bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper.
In a third shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Step 3: Bread the Ravioli
Dip each ravioli into the flour, coating both sides lightly.
Next, dip the floured ravioli into the egg mixture, making sure it’s fully coated.
Then, dredge the ravioli in the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.

Step 4: Fry the Ravioli
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Carefully add the breaded ravioli to the hot oil in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove the ravioli from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

Step 5: Prepare the Marinara Dipping Sauce
While the ravioli are frying, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in the dried basil and garlic powder for added flavor.
Once heated through, remove from heat.

Step 6: Serve & Enjoy!
Serve the crispy fried ravioli hot with the marinara dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy these crunchy, cheesy bites as a fun snack or appetizer!

Notes

Don’t Overcrowd the Pan – Fry the ravioli in batches to ensure they cook evenly and get crispy.
Use Fresh or Frozen Ravioli – You can use store-bought frozen ravioli or make your own if you prefer.
Use High-Quality Marinara – The dipping sauce can make or break the dish, so use a good-quality marinara sauce for the best flavor.
Make It Spicy – Add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce for a bit of heat, or sprinkle some on the fried ravioli.
