Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe but firm pears (such as Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored

  • ½ cup crumbled blue cheese (Gorgonzola or Roquefort work well)

  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts (toasted for extra flavor)

  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (to prevent browning)

  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional garnish)

  • Fresh cracked black pepper (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Pears

  1. Cut pears in half lengthwise and use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the seeds and a bit of the center to make room for filling.

  2. Brush each pear half with lemon juice to keep them from browning.

Step 2: Assemble the Filling
3. In a small bowl, mix blue cheese and chopped walnuts together.
4. Spoon the mixture into the hollowed center of each pear half, pressing gently to pack.

Step 3: Serve or Roast
Option 1 – Serve Fresh:
5. Arrange on a serving platter and drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
6. Sprinkle with thyme, rosemary, or a crack of black pepper if desired.

Option 2 – Serve Warm:
5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
6. Place stuffed pears in a baking dish and roast for 12–15 minutes, until warmed through and cheese is slightly melted.
7. Drizzle with honey just before serving.

Step 4: Garnish & Enjoy
8. Serve immediately as an appetizer or elegant addition to a cheese board.

Notes

Choose Firm Ripe Pears – They should be sweet but hold their shape.
Toast the Walnuts – Adds more crunch and flavor depth.
Don’t Overfill – A generous spoonful is enough; you want balance in each bite.
Roast for Extra Warmth – Optional, but makes the cheese even creamier.
Use a Small Scoop – For neatly hollowing out the core area.
