  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 green peppers (thinly sliced)
  • 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube (crushed)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cups rotisserie chicken breast (shredded)
  • Garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste
  • Provolone cheese (slices)
  • 1 package of Hawaiian rolls (12 count)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt oil and butter. Add green peppers and onions, cooking until soft.
  3. Stir in crushed bouillon cube and brown sugar; cook for another 15 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix shredded chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Combine the chicken mixture with the sautéed vegetables in the skillet; cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Split Hawaiian rolls in half and place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  7. Layer half of the provolone cheese on the bottom halves, followed by the chicken mixture and another layer of cheese.
  8. Place the top half of the buns over everything.
  9. Brush tops with melted butter mixed with Italian seasoning.
  10. Bake for about 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and tops are golden.
