Ingredients

Scale

For the Toast:

  • 8 slices thick-cut bread (Texas toast or any thick white bread)

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (plus more for garnish)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Optional Add-ins:

  • Red pepper flakes for a spicy kick

  • Sliced green onions for extra flavor

  • Cheddar cheese for a sharper taste

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Garlic Butter
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley.
Mix until fully combined.

Step 2: Spread the Butter
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Arrange the bread slices in a single layer.
Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter mixture onto each slice.

Step 3: Add the Cheese
Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over each slice of buttered bread.
Top with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.

Step 4: Bake the Toast
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown.
For extra golden tops, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with extra chopped parsley.
Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Use Thick Bread – It holds up better to all the buttery, cheesy toppings.
Soften the Butter – Soft butter spreads easily and evenly without tearing the bread.
Keep an Eye While Broiling – Cheese can go from golden to burnt quickly, so watch closely.
Add Cheese Last Minute – Adding a little extra cheese right before broiling makes it extra melty.
