Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Breading Station
Set up three shallow bowls:
-
Flour mixed with salt and pepper.
-
Eggs whisked with milk.
-
Breadcrumbs, panko, paprika, and garlic powder stirred together.
Step 2: Slice the Onion
Peel the onion and cut into ½-inch thick slices.
Separate into rings and choose the larger ones for best results.
Step 3: Bread the Onion Rings
Dredge each ring in the flour, shaking off the excess.
Dip into the egg mixture, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
Press gently to help the coating stick.
Place on a tray while you bread the rest.
Step 4: Air Fry Until Crispy
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil.
Arrange onion rings in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
Spray the tops of the rings with cooking spray.
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Step 5: Serve Hot with Your Favorite Dip
Serve immediately while they’re crispy with a dipping sauce of your choice.
Notes
Use Panko – For a light, extra-crispy texture.
Press the Breading – Helps it stick and stay on during air frying.
Don’t Overcrowd – Space out the rings for even crisping.
Double Dip – For an extra thick coating, repeat the egg and breadcrumb step.
Serve Fresh – Best enjoyed right after cooking for peak crunch.
