- 1 1/2 cups brown rice
- 3 cups chicken bone broth
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons grass-fed butter or ghee
- 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the brown rice under cold water until clear. Drain well.
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels for even cooking.
- Combine seasoning ingredients in a bowl.
- Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat; cook shrimp until pink (about 2 minutes each side). Set aside.
- In the same skillet, add remaining butter and toasted rice with seasoning for one minute.
- Stir in chicken broth and bring to a boil; cover and reduce heat to simmer for 22-25 minutes until rice is tender.
- Mix in cooked shrimp and chopped herbs before serving hot.
